Bellari Supports Healing Homes

Bellari Donates Home Remodeling Help to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset Initiative

(January 23, 2020 – BRANCHBURG, NJ) Bellari, one of New Jersey’s largest full-service home improvement and remodeling companies, proudly supports Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, in its new Healing Homes initiative. The Healing Homes initiative offers housing for up to 24 months for an individual or family in Somerset County who has a chronic or acute health condition that causes financial hardship and leaves them unable to afford housing and/or the basic cost of living.

As a third-generation family-owned home improvement business in Somerset County, Bellari has provided expertise and many hours of sweat equity – as well as roofing, siding, windows, doors, plumbing, and electric – to the initiative’s inaugural renovation project.

“Renovations have been completed on the first of two homes in Somerville, thanks to tremendous community support and the generosity of partners like Bellari,” said Tony Cava, president and CEO, RWJUH Somerset. “Our dedication to serving the people of our community must extend beyond the care we provide within the walls of our hospital, and Healing Homes will allow us to provide sustainable solutions for our neighbors who encounter economic challenges while maintaining a healthy and safe environment.”

Bellari Co-Owner and Executive Vice President Gary Shiman agrees. “We must invest in and care for our community,” says Shiman, “and we are honored to be able to provide our design expertise and quality installation to the project to create a beautiful home for a family facing hardship.”

Plans to renovate a second residence in Somerville are already underway.

To be eligible for the Healing Homes program, participants must meet the following criteria for consideration: have a chronic or acute disease, such as diabetes or cancer, that causes financial hardship and makes them unable to afford housing and/or basic cost of living; have limited access to health care; and earn below the New Jersey Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income guidelines.
